THE EXPERIENCE

Following Milan's Salone del Mobile and leading up to the Venice Biennale, the Villa Malaguti will host two exclusive retreats located in the tranquil countryside of Cento, Italy, nestled in the Emilia-Romagna region.

The first retreat, a private, invitation-only experience, immediately following Salone del Mobile, offering an exclusive preview of our immersive, creativity-focused program.

The second retreat, marks the official launch prior to the Biennale, offering a more in-depth journey to enrich creative practice through a thoughtfully curated blend of art, breathwork, cultural immersion, and relaxation.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Villa Malaguti retreats provide an immersive escape in Italy’s serene countryside, inviting designers, architects, and creatives to reconnect with their creative flow in a culturally rich setting. Drawing from Cento’s artistic heritage, participants can rediscover their vision and deepen their practice.

Led by Jeyda Deyna of Toronto Breathwork, with Hamid Samad and Sara Parisotto of Commute Design Studio and keepers of Villa Malaguti, the retreats offer a curated blend of breathwork, creative workshops, and time to appreciate Emilia-Romagna’s architectural beauty—all within a setting that fosters artistic growth and well-being.

    Founder of Toronto Breathwork, Jeyda Deyna is an artist and wellness guide who pioneered the fusion of breathwork and creative flow to enhance artistic expression. With a background in communication, design, and a passion for authentic creative experiences, Jeyda brings a holistic approach to her sessions, helping creatives reconnect with their inner vision and expand their artistic practice.

    Sara Parisotto and Hamid Samad are the founders of Commute Design Studio, known for its thoughtful, enduring approach to design rooted in culture and heritage. As curators and keepers of Villa Malaguti, they create immersive spaces that inspire creativity and connection, drawing on their extensive expertise in architecture and design to offer a retreat that balances artistic growth with cultural depth.

    1. Sunrise Breathwork & Meditation: Begin each day with an energizing session led by Jeyda Deyna to center the mind, stimulate creativity, and enter a flow state.

    2. Creative Workshops: Each day features a new focus on painting, drawing, or mixed media. Participants will explore various techniques and materials, with guidance to break creative boundaries.

    Afternoon

    1. Culinary Creativity: Hands-on cooking classes with local chefs, emphasizing the art of Italian cuisine. The focus is on the creative process within culinary traditions.
